At Waypoint Academy, we believe every child deserves the chance to begin their own Hero’s Journey—to develop the competence, independence, and purpose required to direct their own life.
Waypoint Academy began with a simple conviction: children are far more capable than we imagine—when they are trusted, challenged, and held to meaningful standards.
I founded Waypoint Academy to create the kind of learning environment I wanted for my own children—one that treats learning as a Hero’s Journey rather than a script to follow. A place where learners are not managed by adults, but gradually learn to manage themselves through mastery, responsibility, and real work.
Waypoint is built on a learner-driven model inspired by Acton Academy, but shaped intentionally for our community. As the school grows, so will the team, the studios, and the opportunities available to learners—but the commitment to culture, ownership, and meaningful challenge will remain constant.

Brad Cerasuolo is the founder and Head of School at Waypoint Academy.
With a background in leadership, operations, and education, Brad is drawn to environments where people are given real ownership and held to high standards. He believes children learn best when they are trusted to do hard things, supported by clear expectations and a strong culture.
As Head of School, Brad’s role is not to direct every outcome, but to shape the environment—set the tone, protect the culture, and ensure Waypoint remains a place where learners are challenged, supported, and respected as capable individuals.
